Modern contemporary designed family home
This Modern contemporary designed family home perched perfectly on the hill above Christchurch. The home was cleverly designed by O’Neil Architecture, scaled and correctly proportioned to meet the complex multi-level site. The intention to soak up the spectacular views of the city, expansive glazing offers panoramic views of the surrounding hillside too.
Thanks to the homes extensive steel structure, large overhanging soffits in hardies and cedar provide shaded balconies from the upstairs rooms. The exterior cladding demonstrates clean lines and is finished in rockcote plaster.
A double-height entry void welcomes guests and incorporates a feature timber staircase. The custom-made black and timber joinery fills the living areas. The open-plan living space with polished concrete flooring is an entertainer’s dream. Encompassing a beautiful designer kitchen, cedar lined ceiling in the living area and full height sliding doors allowing extensive indoor-outdoor flow.
The front of the home is wrapped in a large deck and concrete patio, surrounding the inbuilt outdoor pool. The deck seamlessly flows down from the living area to meet the native planted garden and shrubs below.
